My first impressions of New Zealand

When I first arrived in New Zealand I felt very tired.  But I was very excited.  New Zealand's fresh air is great.  It's impossible to breathe such fresh air in China.  When I came to my homestay hosts, they were warm and kind.  So I wasn't nervous.  Althougth I don't yet like New Zealand food, there are many things I do like.  I like the way of study at Wintec.  It's very relaxed but efficient.

There was a  'Welcome' dinner for the teachers at the Eatery in Rototuna tonight, with a number of Wintec staff.  Director of Internationlisation, Mohammed Yaghi, welcomed the teachers.  It was a rainy night but light, warm, filling and happy in the restaurant.

English language practice in A1.05

Today, in A1.05, the teachers began their second day of classes for English language practice.  They wrote about their expectations, as well as their 'first impressions of New Zealand' - while those first impressions are still fresh.

A welcome lunch in Events Room 1, 23 June, 2014, the teachers' first day at Wintec

Nine teachers have arrived to be with us at Wintec for five months.   Their visit is part of a partnership between Chengdu University and our organization.  They've arrived in our winter but they've received a warm welcome!
